Sarah started her athletic career in gymnastics at the age of 9. She trained recreationally for 4 years and competitivelyfor 3 years. At the age of 14, she started competing in dance and continued through her senior year in high school. During that time she worked as a dance and gymnastics assistant coach. In her first year of college at UNC Charlotte, where she attained her BS degree in Exercise Science, she discovered CrossFit. She participated in, and led, an on campus club called “49er CrossFit” with a fellow student. After finding a CrossFit gym in Charlotte and calling it “home,” she got her Level 1 Certification and began coaching. She coached there for 2 years, and aftergraduation continued coaching in her hometown of Winston-Salem. She moved to Greensboro in the fall of 2014 where she began studying for her MS in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. Her first priority was to find a gym, and when she walked into College Hill CrossFit she immediately knew this was her new “home.” She currently works on campus with the HOPE program leading group exercise for adults aged 50+, and is an Exercise Testing Lab TA for undergraduates. She has a passion for coaching and looks forward to growing with this amazing community.
